Sensory TheraPlay Box Review
Have you heard of Sensory TheraPlay Boxes? They are awesome! I’m totally in love.
TheraPlay Boxes are a subscription service that offers different sensory items in each box. This wonderful sensory box is intended for children on the autism spectrum and/or children with sensory processing issues. Kids with emotional disturbance (e.g., hyperactivity, impulsiveness, excessive anxiety, temper tantrums, poor coping skills) can also benefit from the items in this box! Even if your child doesn’t have any of those things, I honestly still believe they could benefit from the items in the box!
Every item in the box is hand selected by a licensed pediatric occupational therapist. You will receive a monthly surprise assortment of sensory toys and tools to engage your child in fun therapeutic play while fulfilling those sensory needs!

While my son doesn’t have autism, he does has trouble focusing, like a lot of kids. He often gets too excited and just wants to jump ahead to the next thing. Taking time to slow down and read every word or making sure we understand exactly what is asked of us, is something we have been working on. The items in January’s TheraPlay Box did the trick. He could fiddle with the squeezer while reading or play with the Mad Matter while listing to instructions or during a read aloud.
But heres the thing. We also got a Melissa and Doug felt coloring pad that I thought he would never use because well, coloring just isn’t his thing. Never has been. He would sit there coloring that thing forever so carefully and focused…and SO HAPPY! That’s exactly why I love this subscription service. Christina (occupational therapist and owner of the company) chooses things that I would NEVER choose myself. Allowing my kids to have new sensory experiences. It’s a great way to discover new sensory stimulative toys and be inspired with fresh, fun ideas. Each month is a new surprise assortment!

Was It Worth The Price?
I’ll be honest, at $39.95 the price is more than other subscription services. However, once we recived our box I was surprised how much was in it! I took the liberty of totaling up everything that came in my box. So let’s say first I knew I wanted to order all these things off Amazon, (which I wouldn’t have because a lot of these items were new to me) I would be spending $49.95 on Amazon. So, A BIG FAT YES! Yes, they are totally worth the price!
